This is a 21st century take on the classic lunch sack. Opened, it's a nice, rectangular 10.5 x 6.75 x 4.5. It closes by folding in the top sides, bringing the front and back edges together, like the old sack. Now, while you would fold the top of the sack over to keep it closed, this hi-tech version provides a separate flap to do the cinching. It's not trying to be an insulated box that your lunch jostles around in nor is the insulation so slight as to be more gimmick than functional. It'll easily hold a 12oz can, a sandwich or two, and a small bag of chips. You can put one of those small freezable plastic doo-dads in the base as a non-messy cold source to further help keep the cool stuff cool (not included), or just a few ice cubes in a resealable bag will suffice, too. Also, like the sacks of yore it actually stands up on its own!
It's constructed of a nice vinyl 'canvas' (the purple and black parts, as well as the strap) on the outside, and a smooth vinyl grey interior lining. There's a generous - but NOT bulky - amount of dense polyester insulating material between the outer and inner shells (INCLUDING THE BASE!). The closure is a simple but effective velcro-latched flap. On the front side is a small pocket suitable for a few napkins and salt & pepper packets. Joints, edges, and piping are all sewn - NOT that plastic melt-together seam stuff!
Oh, did I mention it was a predominantly purple product?!

Yes, there's writing on the front. If your friends or co-workers ask about it, just hone your tall-tale, story-telling skills to add some adventure to the lunch.
